Schauspielerin Margot Robbie sah die Gelegenheit und packte sie am Schopfe. Beim Dreh zu Babylon schnappte sie sich Kollegen Brad Pitt und küsste ihn – dabei stand das ursprünglich überhaupt nicht im Skript. Das stand nicht im Drehbuch, gab sie im Interview mit E!News zu. Aber ich dachte: Wann habe ich sonst die Chance, Brad Pitt zu küssen? Ich werde es einfach tun.

Robbie spielt in Babylon die aufstrebende Jungschauspielerin Nelly. Der altgediente Schauspieler Jack, gespielt von Brad Pitt, und Manny (Diego Calva), ebenfalls ein Newcomer, sollen ihr auf dem Weg nach oben helfen und sie in der goldenen Äre Hollywoods, den 20er-Jahren,  zu Ruhm führen. Für Robbie das perfekte Ausgangsszenario um mit Pitt zu knutschen. So erzählte sie, dass sie Regisseur Damien Chazelle, der auch La La Land gemacht hat, geradezu überredete, nachträglich eine Kussszene einzubauen. Sie sei zu Chazelle gegangen und habe ihm mitgeteilt, dass es Sinn ergeben würde, wenn Nelly Jack küssen würde.

Doch der Regisseur roch den Braten sofort. Damien meinte: 'Nun, sie könnte – warte, warte mal. Du willst nur Brad Pitt küssen, erzählte Robbie. Sie habe es daraufhin offen zugegeben und scherzhaft erwidert: Oh, verklagt mich doch. Doch Chazelle ließ sich dennoch überzeugen und die Szene mit dem Kuss als Extra wiederholen. Robbie improvisierte. Den Kuss beschrieb sie im Interview als einfach großartig. 

Doch tatsächlich ist Co-Star Pitt wohl nicht der einzige, der in den Genuss kam, mit Margot Robbie zu knutschen. Sie plauderte in den Interview ebenfalls aus, eine Kollegin geküsst zu haben. Ich habe auch Katherine [Waterston] geküsst, sagte sie. Allerdings wisse sie nicht, ob dieser Kuss aufgenommen worden sei.

Der Hollywoodstreifen Babylon – Rausch der Ekstase wird bereits von den Kinofans sehnlichst erwartet. Das liegt unter anderem an dem Staraufgebot. Neben Margot Robbie und Brad Pitt werden darin auch Stars wie Toby Maguire und Olivia Wilde zu sehen sein. In Deutschland soll der Film ab dem 19. Januar in die Kinos kommen.Robbie retold the story from the set in a recent interview, but it's been met with anger by many online who are claiming that an impromptu kiss is assault and if she were a man, she would have been canceled.

You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt.' And I was like, 'Oh, so sue me. This opportunity might never come up again.' And he was like, 'It does work for the character, ' and I was like, 'I think so.'

Robbie continued: And so I did it first time and finished that take and I was like…'Thanks Damien, ' and he was like, 'No, do it again. That works.'
