As an actress, Margot Robbie has captivated audiences with her talent and charm on the big screen. Her most recent project as an actor is the upcoming film Barbie, in which she co-stars with actor Ryan Gosling.

As Margot's fame grows, so does fans' curiosity about the relationship she has with her father, Australian business tycoon Doug Robbie, and whether or not it is comparable to the one she has with her mother.

It appears that Robbie does not have a close relationship with her father. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar in 2016, she was hesitant to talk about him, as she said she knew very little about him. She added:

While the Australian actress claimed she had limited information about her father, The Daily Mail reported in 2016 that the older Robbie was involved in Australia's agricultural industry.

A former farm owner, Doug became a successful sugar cane tycoon. The tabloid also claimed he is rich and powerful and lives on the Gold Coast, just a few streets away from Margot's mother.

He is not very active on social media but maintains an Instagram account. As of this writing, he has 282 followers and has only posted four photos on his account.

Doug and the Hollywood A-lister have a somewhat distant relationship, but Margot's brother, Lachlan Robbie, appears much closer to their father. Lachlan dedicated a Father's Day tribute to their dad on Instagram in 2015.

In the caption, Lachlan mentioned that even though they do not have a normal family, Doug has always been there to provide him with education and support whenever he needs it.

Margot appears to have a fiercely close relationship with her mother, Sarie Kessler, who works as a physiotherapist. Doug is Sarie's former husband, who allegedly left their home when their children were still young.

In fact, Margot revealed in a magazine interview that she used her first paycheck to repay her mother for all of the money she spent on her in 12th grade. She stated that she had kept a list of everything she owed her mother.

Doug's daughter knew how to set priorities when it came to money. Whenever she received a paycheck, she immediately paid off her debt. She also said it felt satisfying to know she had paid back everything.

The dazzling actress and Doug seem to have a strained relationship, so when she tied the knot with her husband, Tom Ackerly, in a lavish ceremony in 2016, she never gave her father a significant wedding responsibility.

At that time, it was unclear if Doug received an invitation to the nuptials, but according to The Daily Mail, Doug's famous daughter refused to form a relationship with him. Instead of her father, Doug's ex-wife was the one who walked her down the aisle.

However, a report from the same publication in 2018 eventually mentioned that Doug was present at his daughter's special day. Doug stated he was thrilled to be a part of his daughter's beautiful wedding.

Doug also spoke highly about how he envisioned her as a parent. The famous actress said she wanted to raise a large family in Australia.

Margot also emphasized that her children would be her priority. On the other hand, Doug confidently proclaimed that the Hollywood beauty would be an amazing mum and do a great job as a parent.

Doug has three other children besides Margot: Cameron, Lachlan, and Anya. Anya and her father were estranged, partly because their father left them when they were young. Margot's father was reportedly estranged from them for 20 years.

Anya had a period in her life where she never wanted to have anything to do with Doug. According to a source, Anya would occasionally allow Doug to see her child, but she was not interested in seeing him herself.

Anya and her siblings have a close relationship with their mom, but Lachlan's bond with Doug is solid. Lachlan frequently talks about how important family and family members' influence is on social media.
