Across her career, Margot Robbie has taken on many roles; however, there is one role that has long eluded her: a role in a Marvel superhero film. It’s honestly puzzling how Marvel has never managed to extend an offer to Robbie resulting in her joining the DC Extended Universe instead in the role of Harley Quinn.

Robbie has been a staple in the DCEU for years, but with the franchise’s futureshrouded in uncertainty, the rumor mill has begun turning with speculation growing over Robbie potentially jumping ship to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While it’s uncertain whether Robbie might actually consider making the jump from the DCEU to the MCU, fans have vocally expressed an interest in seeing Robbie play one of the X-Men’s most iconic villains. And thanks to one talented artist, we now have an idea of what Robbie could look like in the MCU if tapped to join the ranks of the X-Men.

Knowing that the X-Men are preparing to make their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe many artists have been finding inspiration in fan castings includingdigital artist cap.ironwidow, who has now given fans the first chance to see what Theron could look like as Mystique in the MCU.

In the jaw-dropping concept art, cap.ironwidow transforms Robbie into Mystique complete with the character’s iconic blue-hued skin and signature red hair in a look that is genuinely camera-ready!

What we love even more is that the artist incorporated Mystique’s iconic look including her well-known costume and even incorporates the signature skull belt often featured within the comics.

The art makes a major argument as to why Marvel should consider Robbie for the role of Mystique as she perfectly embodies the character in the fan concept art!

Currently, Marvel has not confirmed any X-Men casting news, leaving fans in a stage of uncertainty so it’s unclear if Margot Robbie will join the MCU as Mystique or any Marvel character for that matter.

While Marvel has not made any announcements regarding plans for the X-Men, a rumor from Giant Freakin Robot suggests Marvel could be attempting to lure Robbie away from DC by offering her a key role in the MCU!According to the rumor, Robbie is said to be “in final talks for one of the biggest roles in the cinematic narrative” which the site speculates could be from the X-Men franchise.

As the brand previously reported, Robbie is a fan of the X-Men franchise and has expressed interest in a role in the franchise when the time comes for the heroes to enter the MCU.

While there are reports that Marvel is looking to bring Margot Robbie into the fold, it’s important to note that Giant Freakin Robot’s reports haven’t always been the most reliable source so it’s important to take the information with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed. Still, it’s fun to think of Robbie jumping from the DCEU to the MCU and she’d definitely be perfect for a number of X-Men characters be it Mystique, Emma Snow or another iconic character from the franchise.

That said, Robbie seems to be more interested in suiting back up in the DCEU as Harley Quinn rather than taking on a new character in any superhero universe.

“No, I’ve had enough of a break. I’m ready to do her again. I didBirds of PreyandThe Suicide Squadback-to-back, so that was a lot of Harley all in a one-year period, but that was a while ago now. I’m always ready for more Harley!”

A lot has changed since that interview was given though, with James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over asCo-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of DC Studios. Still, knowing Robbie has an interest in playing Harley again

That she’s had the chance to work closely with both Gunn and Safran seems to bode well for her odds of remaining in the DCEU.

There are a lot of unknowns about what the next chapter of the DCEU will look like. Recent months have seen many beloved and key actors from the DC slate being shown the door by DC Studios’ new heads. This list includes Henry Cavill and Dwayne Johnson, who are both out as Superman and Black Adam, respectively. Ben Affleck is said to be done playing Batman, Gal Gadot’s time as Wonder Woman might very well be coming to a close, and Jason Momoa is rumored to be ready to walk away from the Aquaman franchise following the sequel to 2018’s

With so much change going on over at DC, many fans are curious to know if any existing actors will continue their roles including Margot Robbie, whose turn as Harley Quinn has been a true standout within the franchise.

James Gunn has yet to reveal the plans for Harley Quinn in the new DC universe being built, however, he has made it clear he will “for sure” work with Margot Robbie again. Those were Gunn’s exact words when a fan asked if he had plans to work with Robbie again, which seems to hint that Gunn is interested in keeping Robbie in the fold. What’s interesting though is that Gunn doesn’t specifically mention working with her when it comes to the role of Harley Quinn but rather in a more general sense.

As such, it makes it hard to know whether Gunn does have active plans to keep Robbie around in his new DC Universe as Harley Quinn, or if he perhaps simply wants to work with her again in the future in some capacity.

We should know more about the future of the DC film franchise in the months ahead, but DC would be wise to lock Robbie down before Marvel can lure her away. After all, she’s more than proven how amazing she can be in a superhero franchise and would be an incredible addition to the MCU.

Let us know in the comments below! When it comes to comic book projects, actress Margot Robbie is known for playing the iconic DC character Harley Quinn. Robbie’s Harley Quinn made her onscreen debut in the 2016 David Ayer-directed

Which featured other characters from the source material such as Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and the Joker. While Robbie is already entrenched in the DC world, that doesn’t mean the actress can’t make the jump to the Marvel Universe one day. Someone on Instagram seemed to already have an idea of who the actress would play as their fan art shows Margot Robbie as the X-Men character Mystique:

The fan art reveals Margot Robbie in the classic Mystique white attire she wears in the comics. The golden bones wrapped around her waist were pouches. Mystique often carried small weapons and other devices to even the odds during battles. Of course, the fan art includes the iconic red hair and blue skin, which was prevalent in the early X-Men films. The character’s original costume was designed by comic artist Dave Cockrum, who also co-created the designs for Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus, and the Spider-Man character Black Cat. Robbie’s Mystique has a sexy, slender physique which was also a staple in the comics. Fans can see the hint of yellow in the actress’s eyes, along with the iconic blue skin and red hair.

Margot

Writer Chris Claremont helped co-create the character in the 1970s. She first appeared in Ms. Marvel #16 and has been an antihero and foe in the X-Men comic series. Margot Robbie’s Mystique draws somewhat similar comparisons to the depiction of the character used in Bryan Singer’s

Margot Robbie To Star In Barbie Movie

. Actress Rebecca Romijn played the character in the early Singer films, and she focused more on the mischievousness and sexiness rather than the hint of heroism that was present in the comics. Just in the fan art alone, Robbie’s Mystique doesn’t look to be someone the X-Men would trust. The slight smirk and the confident stance show a bit of intelligence hidden underneath those yellow eyes and blue skin.

One has to wonder if Margot Robbie’s Mystique would also have the same qualities as her Harley Quinn character from DC. The character showcased not just her sex appeal but also her cunning. Robbie’s Quinn had more similarities to the character depicted in the popular Harley Quinn series on HBO Max rather than in the original

Margot Robbie playing Mystique could be something fans of the comic series would appreciate, especially if it’s comics accurate. So far, MCU president Kevin Feige has yet to reveal when the X-Men will appear. However, there have already been hints of mutants in the MCU, most notably in
