Margot Robbie Manson Movie

The first trailer for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is finally here and so is the the Leonardo DiCaprio-Brad Pitt buddy comedy of our dreams.

Quentin Tarantino's ninth (and supposedly final) film is set in the Hollywood of the late 1960s, against the backdrop of the impending Manson Family murders. (You can catch glimpses of Margot Robbie as late actress Sharon Tate throughout, although she doesn't actually speak.) DiCaprio plays has-been Western TV star Rick Dalton, while Pitt stars as his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth, and from the looks of the new trailer, the two men are a little bewildered by the turn the industry has taken.

Once

The nearly two-minute clip opens with Rick and Cliff being interviewed about their respective jobs. Actors are required to do a lot of dangerous stuff, Rick explains. Cliff here is meant to help carry the load.

Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lawrence have reportedly been approached to star in the as-yet untitled film, which will tell the story of Sharon Tate, the actress and wife of director Roman Polanski who was brutally murdered by Manson’s followers in 1969.

It’s not yet known what role Lawrence, 26, will play, but her involvement has been the subject of speculation since she was spotted leaving a lunch meeting with Tarantino last month.

Margot Robbie To Play Sharon Tate In Quentin Tarantino's Manson Family Murders Movie

Of course, because it’s Hollywood, nothing is set in stone yet, but were the film to go ahead it would be Tarantino’s first film based on true events.

The Manson family, a commune of mostly women formed in San Francisco by aspiring singer-songwriter Charles Manson, gained international notoriety after the Tate murders, which took place at the Los Angeles home of Tate and Polanski on August 8, 1969.

Manson ordered four of his followers to the home, falsely believing it to still belong to a record producer who had previously rejected Manson’s music.

Polanski was out of town at the time of the home invasion, during which three women and one man murdered Tate and four others – three of them dinner guests and the fourth an 18-year-old man who was visiting the property’s caretaker.

Some have questioned the wisdom of Tarantino, a director whose films are known for their extreme violence and gore, tackling a story that remains a sensitive subject for many – particularly Polanski, who has since remarried.

However, many believe the rumoured film is a match made in heaven and the internet is awash with suggestions for actors who should play Manson. Shia LaBeouf, Aaron Paul, Boyd Holbrook, Joaquin Phoenix and Jake Gyllenhaal have all been put forward.
