From the moment we saw the first teaser image of Margot Robbie, 32, posing in the bubble gum pink convertible with that pearly white smile, it’s been impossible to picture anyone else but the Australian actress playing the role of Barbie in the upcoming live-action film. So, imagine our surprise when we learned there was another actress up for the part as well.

So, what happened? Sadly, Gadot couldn’t accept the role for reasons unknown. And before the role went to Robbie, there was another actress considered to play the lead: Amy Schumer.

Back in March 2016, news outlets reported the comedian was set to play Barbie in the movie. But four months later, Schumer had to leave the project due to “scheduling conflicts” (per Buzzfeed News).

Movie, a brand-new trailer for the highly anticipated film has been released. In it, Barbie (Robbie) and her boyfriend Ken (Ryan Gosling) embark on an exciting adventure to learn about what exists outside of Barbie Land aka the real world.
