Look: Margot Robbie Channels Sharon Tate In 'once Upon A Time' Image
Tarantino's ninth film visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The film tracks multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.
Margot Robbie plays actress Sharon Tate, the wife of Rosemary's Baby director Roman Polanski. Tate was among those brutally murdered by followers of cult leader Charles Manson fifty years ago this August. In the film, Tate is Rick Dalton's neighbor. The movie reunites Robbie with her Wolf of Wall Street co-star DiCaprio.
The film's producer David Heyman recently explained that [Sharon Tate] has been mythologized in some way through the murders but we get to see her as a person and we get to see her delight and enthusiasm and her sweetness. ... She represents an innocence and innocence lost in some way, and that innocence is very much — that sweetness, that goodness, that delight with the movies, with her, with her life — is something that we experience.”

Sharon Tate isn't the only historical figure portrayed in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Homeland's Damian Lewis plays Steve McQueen, Mike Moh plays Bruce Lee, Damon Herriman plays Charles Manson, and Rafał Zawierucha plays Roman Polanski.
The ensemble cast also includes Al Pacino, Bruce Dern, Timothy Olyphant, Dakota Fanning, Lena Dunham, Emile Hirsch, Scoot McNairy, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, and in his final movie role, Luke Perry.
