What Foundation Does Margot Robbie Use

Margot Robbie - the star of the movie - is my latest girl crush, especially after all the promo for the movie when we all watched the actress nailing look after look in the run up to the movie's release.

With that in mind, it's come to my attention that 33-year-old Margot Robbie has a few go-to foundations that she just loves. We've unearthed an interview she did with British Vogue where she spilled the beans on her most-used skincare and makeup essentials.

Every

On the subject of makeup, she said: For everyday I use either Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser or Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation mixed in with some moisturiser, or if I go to events I use Suqqu Foundation. That sh*t doesn’t come off. It looks like skin, but it doesn’t budge. I haven’t found another foundation that stays on like that without looking heavy.

While I've not tried Ellis Faas before, the other two products I also think are brilliant. Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturiser is a dream to apply and also gets the seal of approval from many celebrities.

Like Margot, I like to wear a heavier foundation for an event (ok, my events are slightly different to her events but whatever!) and the Suqqu Foundation is a hero for long-lasting foundation. It's the kind of makeup you wear and you feel flawless. I'm 39-years-old and the Japanese brand's foundation blends seamlessly and doesn't settle into fine lines or wrinkles. It also gives a lovely glow to the skin. I do think it's quite expensive but you don't need to apply much. I also like that it's in a jar (but that is personal taste as lots of people prefer bottles with pump action).

The price tag might be to do with the fact that the foundation is infused with 13 Japanese-sourced extracts (think green tea and silk protein), so the formula leaves skin smooth and hydrated while blending seamlessly and staying luminous throughout the day.

Margot Robbie On Her Beauty Secrets... And Why 'women Are No Longer Stuck In A Man's World'

The interview Margot did with Vogue might be a little old, and of course she's also a huge fan of Chanel makeup as well nowadays. The Aussie actress' makeup artist - the iconic Pati Dubroff - exclusively used Chanel beauty products on her celebrity client during the press tour for Barbie. Taking to Instagram, the makeup artist revealed that this was her favorite beauty look out of all of them...

She wrote: Brit Barbie. This might be my favorite makeup from the whole tour. Margot Robbie IS a dream face to paint on. One of her go-to foundations was the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear in B30.

Another foundation I adore. So basically, what I'm trying to say here is that Margot Robbie and I are so alike and we could even share makeup bags on a night out and be best friends.

The 'oxygen Infused' Foundation Derms Recommend Is Also The One Margot

. All the stars walked the red carpet, including Margot Robbie (duh), who wore yet another fashion and beauty look that gave a nod to her titular character. Yes, all her press tour looks have been iconic, but this one might be the ultimate. Why? It didn't fall into the typical Barbiecore aesthetic; it was more glamorous and unexpected.

World Premiere, Margot's makeup look was inspired by the original 'Solo in the Spotlight' Barbie doll, says Chanel makeup artist Pati Dubroff. I stripped the makeup back instead of going full retro. The look is a more simplified, doll-like face. I focused on a red lip to tie in the flower on her dress, and the rest of the face is polished and natural, with soft eyes and glowing skin.

Robbie's makeup look was more than the sum of its parts, although its parts are worth mentioning. She had bright, highlighted cheekbones, soft and sophisticated eye makeup, and a high-impact red lip. It was pretty much the definition of 'glowing, ' and we had to get all the details. We don't gatekeep, so we're sharing them with you. Keep scrolling to see every makeup product Robbie wore to the premiere, including an iconic Chanel makeup product.

Pati Dubroff Shares Her Genius Foundation Application Trick

This is one of the best natural-looking foundations money can buy. Dubroff used the shade B30, mixing it with a skin tint to achieve Robbie's flawless yet lightweight-looking base.

Here's the skin tint. It has a gel texture and pigmented micro-droplets that burst onto the skin and create a bare-skin effect. Dubroff used the shade Light-Deep.

Here's the iconic product we've been talking about. It's a classic loved by beauty editors, influencers, and makeup artists because it provides a natural-looking glow and definition. Read our full review to learn why we love it so much. Dubroff used the shade Soleil Tan Bronze, which is the lightest of the three shades available.

Dubroff mixed two shades of this powder formula to create Robbie's soft washed-out cheek color. The first was a red-pink shade called Malice. The second was a more neutral-toned terracotta color called Jersey.

To pair back the shine in certain areas, Dubroff used this loose-setting powder. It has photo-reflective pigments to illuminate the skin while reducing the appearance of pores, lines, and imperfections.

The final product Dubroff used to perfect Robbie's glowing complexion was this multi-use highlighter stick. She used two shades. The first was this champagne color called Sculpted. The second was a translucent one called Transparent.

I applied Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Transparent across the tops of the high bones - the top of the brow bone and center of the lid, Dubroff says. Then, I applied Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Sculpting to add more strategically placed, champagne-like highlights to the face.

The only product Dubroff used on Robbie's eyebrows was this gel, which shapes brows and holds them in place. She used the transparent shade—no tint necessary.

When it came time for eye makeup, Dubroff reached for this eyeliner and eyeshadow crayon in two shades. The first was this rose gold color called Nude Éclat. The second was an espresso color called Electric Brown. To us, it looks like the former was used all over the lid, while the latter was just used along the lash line to define the eyes.

For the red lip, Dubroff started with a base of this hydrating and plumping lip balm. She used the shade Red Camellia.

The star of the show, however, was this lipstick in shade 854, a bold, cherry-red color. The formula is highly pigmented. Seriously, all you need is one swipe for full coverage. It's also hydrating and long-wearing, which explains why Dubroff used it for a premiere event.

Finally, Dubroff perfected the lip look using lip liner—two lip liners, to be exact. The first was this cherry red color called Rouge Cerise. The second was a brighter, more vibrant red called Rouge Tendre.Finding your perfect foundation match is no mean feat. Some are too matte, others too glowy, and some cling to dry skin, while others don’t seem to want to stay put at all. And it’s true that often your base of choice has the power to totally wash out your complexion and even break you out. It’s a situation I know all too well. Often, I think I’ve found a new favorite base, until after a week of using it, my face is plagued with zits.

Beauty Products Margot Robbie Loves

It’s a sorry fact, but even the best of foundations have a tendency to block pores and cause breakouts. For someone like me who wears just a smattering of foundation on a good day, dealing with foundation-induced breakouts isn’t all that common. But this got me thinking, how do those people who wear foundation morning, noon and night cope? After a bit of digging, I discovered that some of our favorite A-listers have been keeping a major foundation secret.

It turns out that celebrities such as Margot Robbie, Kourtney Kardashian, Elle Macpherson, and Ellie Goulding all use  Oxygenating Foundation ($76) to achieve a blurred, perfected finish that actually works to treat skin at the same time, minimizing the risk of any breakouts. (Plus, the brand even has separate lines dedicated to different skin undertones—yellow or blue!)
